Then you might have thought that it would have been better if you had a way to save you text messages. Some sort of back up that protects and keep your precious SMS collection at some safe place. So that you could have them whenever you want. And so is this post, "How to save text messages in android?". There are many ways by which you could save your text messages like transferring them to you PC from cell phone, copying them to memory cards or creating an online backup using some apps. Here I will share with you some of the reliable apps that helps to create a back up and save text messages online easily. In that way you can access them whenever you need.

Save Text Messages in Android Using Apps

Here is a list of android apps that helps in saving text messages. Just choose the one you re most comfortable with and keep saving.

SMS Backup+ uses Gmail/ Google Calender to back up your SMS, call log entries and MMS. It allows you to restore your SMS and call log entries on your android whenever you need. Though they have not yet provided MMS restore function. But I think they will launch it soon. And to use this app you have to enable IMAP in you Gmail account. Also, there is a small problem. Auto back up might not work properly when you install Backup+ on SD card. So you have to move it to the phone memory.

One thing to take care while using this app is the default backup location is your internal storage card and not the external one. Hence, when you do factory reset on the phone make sure that you default backup folder is in your external SD card. Else you could lose your data.
